We Told You This Would Happen

Would sure be nice if humanity could continue
peacefully toward more advanced civilization stuff
like universal basic income and meat substitutes
instead of being forced to fight recurring battles
against selfish morons just to maintain basic-level
achievements like vaccinations and human rights.

Would sure be fine if we could develop intelligence
beyond evolved baseline mainstream irresponsibility
in a safe and regulated way that benefits all humanity
instead of corrupted moneyhoarding monkeybrains
macgyvering manipulative mass hypnosis machines
that transmogrify societies into zero-sum cryptochains.

Would sure be okay if this futile war could end
when one fucking imbecile dies a violent death
and his sycophants burn their emblems in shame,
but no; there won’t be poetic justice nor atonement;
only gradual leisurely loss of agency and decency
until deep primitive cruelty replaces all empathy.

And would sure be sweet to meander like a child
naively dreaming that there is a reason and a plan
or some larger truth behind this hateful lunacy
instead of knowing full well that we will all lose
our decision-making abilities to dark therapytech
and no human has enough willpower to disconnect.

We told you this would happen
and it happened as we told.
